Twitter

I’m trying a new adventure. You may or may not have heard about about Twitter but I’m trying to figure it out. As with most things, it takes me a little while. But if you’re in for the new fan-dangled technologies, come follow my Tweets. I promise, there will be occasional coupons that will make it worth your while!

Our Party Fast Approacheth!!!

You’ve all seen the big yellow billboard, but today we got a blue and white striped stage! We’re all giddy with anticipation ‘cuz the party’s almost here!!! The weather is going to be beautiful, the bands and dancers will be awesome, the food will be amazing and the sales will be outstanding! Make sure you’ve got the neighborhood blockparty in your day planner-it will be ALL THAT!

Happy Father’s day!

Even though the weather is questionable, (we were going to go out on the river and that plan changed) I hope that every one of our fathers out there had a wonderful Father’s Day! In honor of the occasion, here is our trivia question for this week:
Which President signed the presidential proclamation setting aside the 3rd Sunday of June as Father’s Day?
The prize: A 9 ounce Braunsweiger.

Happy Sunday!

Awesome daughters

I just want to say a few words about our awesome daughters. Of course, they are unbelievably smart and impossibly adorable just like each parent’s children. They are funny and clever and they make us laugh all the time. But what I love most about ours are that they are so thoughtful and caring. They love to make dinner for us, all the way down to an appetizer. They love to give back rubs and read us books. I have more handmade, “I love you, Mom” bookmarks than I do books, and that is saying something because I have a lot of books!

They are both just really great kids and I thought you should know.

Trivia-Better late than never…right?

So here is the trivia question for this week. (It’s only Tuesday, right?) Which animals won the most military medals during World War II?
This week, the prize will be a FREE 8″ sub of your choice. That’s right! When I slack off for three weeks, you reap the benefits!

San Francisco…..kind of

I’m headed out to San Francisco. In fact, I should be packing right now. I have a two day seminar on Monday and Tuesday that I’m really looking forward to. (I’m also really pumped about the big stack of books that I have waiting for consumption in the airports and airplanes of my immediate future!) The only bummer is that the seminar is in San Francisco and the flights are scheduled so that I arrive late on Sunday, learn for 9 hours on Monday and Tuesday and then fly out again at 6AM on Wednesday. So it’s a bit like they tell you when you visit Alcatraz. They say that some of the worst torture for the inmates was that they could see the beautiful city of San Francisco just across the bay, even smell the Ghirardelli chocolate factory, but not be able to enjoy it’s freedoms. Now, I’m not saying that my brief stay in a cookie cutter hotel just outside of San Francisco is anything like prison, but I will be SO CLOSE to so many fun and fantastic tastes, smells and sights but they will be slightly out of reach. That’s why it’s a BIG stack of books!

Trivia Hiatus

I’m sorry! I slacked too much this Memorial Day and I didn’t find us a trivia question for this week. But hey, there isn’t a full week for you to answer it in anyway so I really had your best interests in mind. (Actually, what happened is the new anti-virus stuff my husband installed on my computer seems to think that the website where I find my trivia contains viruses. So every time I try to go there, sirens sound and my computer threatens to explode-it’s very scary!)

Newsletter

May’s Cheesey Newsletter is REALLY late! That’s kind of all I really have to say about that.

Sunday trivia

Here it is:

Who was our youngest president?

Prize:

1/2# of brie cheese

Last week: Who invented mother’s day? Anna Jarvis.

Have a great week!

Team names

We need clever input! The Cheese Corner is forming a Relay For Life team and we need a name. We have some ideas but it’s always fun to have some other suggestions. So if you have any ideas for a good name, we would love to hear them.

Then, in the very near future, I’m going to ask you to come and support us! We are going to sell those shape things (you know, those things that you pay $1 for and you write your name on it and we stick it on the wall) and we’re going to find some item to sell from which the proceeds go toward our fund raising efforts. Of course, anyone can just donate any random amount at any time as well!
